Dixieland Jersey Sires

The membership fee has been waived. Members pay only for the semen they use, which is usually $5 or less per unit. Members choose the bulls to sample. Semen allocation is based on herd size.

Annual Meeting
The membership meeting is usually held in conjunction with activities of the Dixie Invitational Sale. At the annual meeting, reports of officers and committees are received, directors are elected and all other business is conducted. Anyone interested in the activities of DJS is always welcome to attend.

Board of Directors
The Board of Directors has general supervision and control of the business and affairs of DJS. The board is comprised of nine at-large members who are elected by members to serve three-year terms. Once elected, a director is eligible to serve two successive three-year terms.

At each meeting, the Board identifies the group of desired sires of sons, then selects the bulls to be sampled. The Board also regularly reviews matings and potential bull mothers to be discussed at future meetings.
